I suppose there are people who don't salivate each year for the announcement of the Jan Michalski longlist, but I wouldn't want to party with them. Among this year's selections are Mark Gevisser's compelling gay memoir Lost and Found in Johannesburg [and Kindle] and Pulitzer winner Paul Harding's death-of-a-child novel Enon. The ten other titles include Second Childhood
and The Taste of Ashes: The Afterlife of Totalitarianism in Eastern Europe.
