Not Harvey Weinstein. Not Scott Rudin. The producer with two Oscar nominations for best picture today is Megan Ellison, for frontrunner American Hustle and underdog Her. Last year Megan was nominated for Zero Dark Thirty
and also produced The Master. If you count her executive producer credits (True Grit, The Grandmaster), her films have been nominated for 32 Oscars. She's a lesbian. And she's 27 years old.
The hetero male story of the day is David O. Russell having players nominated in all four acting categories for two consecutive years. He and Alexander Payne both are both nominated for best director for their third consecutive films (American Hustle, Silver Linings Playbook, The Fighter / Nebraska, The Descendants, Sideways).
