Last night the Teddy Awards for the best queer movies at the 63rd Berlin Film Festival, the big winner was the drama In the Name Of about a tempted gay priest working with tough youths in a remote Polish village (above). In addition to winning the Teddy, Malgorzata Szumowska's feature also won the audience award.
Best documentary was awarded to Bambi, a portrait of a Algerian trans woman who was born in 1935 and began performing cabaret in Paris in the 1950s.
A special jury prize was given to Concussion, the lesbian drama directed by Stacie Passon that recently screened at Sundance.
