Bent Pages is going out of business. The store announced, "This Saturday and Sunday, we are making all our general literature available for $5.00 a bag. All our LGBT material is available at half price, as is anything else that is not a book or greeting card (posters, photos, record albums, puzzles, bookmarks, artwork). Open this Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 each day."
Meanwhile, Manhattan's queer pop-up store BGSQD continues its temporary run at the Strange Loop Gallery on Orchard St. Amazingly, they host three or four events a week. Since Friday they've had Laurie Weeks (Zipper Mouth) and Lonely Christopher (The Mechanics of Homosexual Intercourse) and newcomer Stephen Boyer reading from his novel Parasite. BGSQD's recent crowdsourcing fundraising effort fell significantly short of its goal and their gallery stay is said to end February 28, so hurry.
