The Wooster Group just did a very gay and very beautiful production of Vieux Carre in NYC, FYI. It was nice to see Williams's later work (which I am very fond of) honored with such a gorgeous (and cutting edge) production.

I think Period of Adjustment would be considered a play with a happy ending, and it is the only comedy Williams every wrote.

Man, this lineup looks wonderful. Wish I had known. I would have gone for the whole thing. Maybe my old alma mater could have sent me some notice of this instead of countless appeals for donations, "special" deals on credit cards and insurance plans, catalogues of GU merchandise like baby bibs with the Hoya logo. Instead, I read the Tenn Cent listings after the fact and sigh. And smile when I remember how Edward Albee tried to pick up this shy young man at the opening night of 'Vieux Carre' at NYC's St. James Theatre so many years ago. Wish I had dropped my guard, but too late for regrets now.
