Jury Announced for First Ever LGBT Cannes Award, Queer Palm

Twenty-three years after the first Teddy Award (Berlin) and three years behind the first Queer Lion (Venice), the Cannes Film Festival this month will see its unofficial first lgbt award, the Queer Palm.

The man-heavy jury consists of Nice lgbt film fest director Benoit Arnulf, Premiere editor Florence Ben Sadoun, Tetu's Romain Charbon, Screen International editor Mike Goodridge, journalist Xavier Leherpeur, Ecran Mixtes manager Ivan Mitifiot, Paris lgbt film fest president Pascale Ourbih, and London lgbt fest programmer Brian Robinson.

Patrons of the award are the delightful directors and partners Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau, who made Jeanne and the Perfect Guy, Adventures of Felix, and Cote D'Azur. They mock their / Cannes' lateness in this Q&A called Teddy vs. Queer Palm.

The winner, selected from all Cannes screenings (Official Selection, Un Certain Regard, Critics’ Week, and Director’s Fortnight) will be announced on May 22.
