When I'm on my deathbed, please say, "December 6, 2008," to remind me I've already seen heaven: a Tina Turner concert from the second row, on the aisle.
Why does Tina hold at least two Guinness World Records? Technically, because she has sold more concert tickets than any other solo act [two of her tours both reached four million people] and because she attracted the largest paying crowd for a single performer at one show, more than 186,000 in Rio's Maracana Stadium. But really it's her voice and her energy, still superhumanly strong even though the day after Thanksgiving she turned sixty-nine. She's playing eighty-one dates in a six month tour throughout North America and Europe. Set list of twenty-one songs here. Hartford was her last U.S. stop. See her now or regret it.
