Just to be clear: I took these pictures on Tuesday driving through Wasilla en route to Denali and Fairbanks. I would never put a Band of Thebes watermark on a photo I didn't shoot myself. Apparently, an Alaskan political blogger took a similar shot, which isn't surprising.
Sunday mornings at 10:30 the Mat-Su Cinema in Wasilla, Alaska doubles as home to the Cross Country Church. Palin was mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002.
There's no good luck sign at the public library. According to reports on Politco, Palin wanted to censor books there and tried to fire the head librarian Mary Ellen Emmons Baker who refused to remove the books. (Huge hat tip Brian).
UPDATE: Time has a story about Palin's theocratic rule as mayor, including her book banning efforts. The NYT also runs the book banning story, saying Palin discussed the topic at a city council meeting.
Um, you need to give credit to the person who actually took this picture, a political blogger in AK. The original pics are at the URL link in this post.
