John Self

Oh well now I have to read that copy of Mothers and Sons which has been on my shelves for months. I'm a big fan of Tóibín, and I think the stories are the only book of his I haven't read. He is giving a reading in my home city next month as part of a festival, but sadly I have already booked tickets for another event on the same evening! I did however have the pleasure of seeing him chair a discussion about ten years ago between Salman Rushdie and Cees Nooteboom at the Belfast Festival. He's a great writer.
