Yes, 'xenos', cf. 'xenophobia', is both 'stranger' and 'guest.' This word plays a major role in Euripides' play "Alcestis" where the guest Herakles must rescue the deceased and faithful wife from Hades. I believe T.S. Eliot also had fun with this play. Bon voyage. Am green with envy.
