McEwan, Diaz, Eggers, Munro, Kramer, Mantel, and Smith. Over the weekend, on a visit to the venerable L.A. indie Book Soup, I was delighted to see Richard Kramer's gay novel These Things Happen [Kindle] at #6 on their bestsellers list. If you haven't yet met Wesley (age fifteen) and George (Wesley's dad's partner), make reading their story another of your resolutions.

Love Book Soup. And loved most of 'These Things Happen' (but only liked the last chapter.) And, of course, I learned about it weeks ago right here on Band of Thebes.
