The book blends journalism, oral history, and archival narrative in more than one hundred brief essays, further enlivened by over 130 illustrations, photos, ads, ephemera, and artifacts. This work grew out of Van Cleve's 2010 project The 100 Queerest Places in Twin Cities History.
