Notice how those unwatchable trailers have propelled Cloud Atlas back onto the bestseller list? Let the same thing happen to a more deserving novel, Peter Cameron's awesomatomic joy Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You whose film has a more watchable (but not perfect) trailer above and a more limited release beginning October 5. Unfortunately, this pits it directly against a triple threat of other literary adaptations that day: The Paperboy, Wuthering Heights, and Frankenweenie.
I saw the trailer on screen last night before The Queen of Versailles and the audience liked it.
Thank god someone else thought the Cloud Atlas trailer was boring and utterly confusing. I was sure I was missing a hipness chip since it has gotten so many raves.
