Seven months late, but still happy news: New Yorkers Lou Halsey, 88, and John Spofford Morgan, 94, met in 1947 in a gay bar called The New Verdi on West 72nd, and after 64 years together they married in November. John was an economist. Lou was a barber. Both men are Navy vets. New York mag has more.

We have decided after thirty-four years that we'll tie the knot later this year - probably on the anniversary of when we met. I'd like to do it where we met but I don't think the V&A would allow it.
