Seems like yesterday I was praising John Waters' Role Models [[Kindle]], and today the judges of the UK lgbt book award the Green Carnation Prize put it on their longlist, inclusive of women for the first time. Last year Christopher Fowler won the inaugural prize for Paperboy, not published in the US. To my mind, nothing could beat Colm Tóibín's The Empty Family.
