Fewer people are reading physical books.
According to new stats from the Association of American Publishers, February 2011 sales of adult books fell 34.4% compared to February 2010. The figure combines hardcovers, paperbacks, and mass markets. Sales of children's books fell 16%.
Sales of digital books rose 202% in February, boosted by the many people who received Kindles, Nooks, Sony Readers and iPads for the holidays.
